Custom Stained Glass 

My larger stained glass pieces are commissioned works. I welcome calls from individuals, businesses, interior designers and builders interested in incorporating custom stained glass pieces into their settings.

How the process works

I like to begin the process by discussing with the client their ideas and needs. This discussion may take place in person, on the phone, or via a video conference on the web. I like to study the setting using photographs or plans of where the piece will be installed or hung. If the client wishes to proceed, we begin the design phase. At this time, I require a non-refundable deposit. I consider the client's suggestions regarding content and color, setting, lighting conditions, visibility of background beyond the window, and opacity. I sketch a picture of the design in color, taking into account form and balance.

At this point, I discuss the design with the client, suggest the type of glass to be used and provide pictures or samples of the glass, making any necessary changes. Once the design is set, I can quote an accurate price for the work. If the client has a specific budget in mind, this is taken into account during the design phase.

Fabrication

When the design is approved and price is agreed upon, I schedule the work and provide a time estimate for delivery.

Pricing

Pricing is variable, depending on the materials selected, the intricacy of the design, and the estimated time to complete the project. A window can cost from $150 per square foot and up. Additional costs include shipping (insured), and sales tax if applicable. Custom framing and installation are not included in the scope of my work.
